Dear Creative,
We are so honored to have landed in your (physical!) mailbox.
In a world where most of the art we consume is digital, we wanted to try something slower, smaller, and more tangible: a monthly envelope of creative work from our community made to be held and cherished. If you decide to stick with us, we'll send you a letter, a small art print, and a poem or a piece of short prose every month.
We're building this in the open because we believe process matters just as much as the outcome. The truth is, most creative work gets messier before it gets better. And that uncertainty is something we rarely show. Thanks for being a trailblazer and joining us as we try out this idea in real time.
This month's print is Untitled by me (Britt Broadwood), a painting that, truthfully, isn't finished. What you're holding is a layer, a version that will eventually be painted over or reshaped, maybe even lost entirely. But this stage felt worth remembering. I wanted to start off the prints with something yet to be, as that's how most creative work lives. I'm choosing to honor the process, to give value to the half-finished, the evolving, the uncertain. There is beauty in the becoming. Maybe you'll see it as a draft, or maybe as a complete piece in its own right. Either way, I hope it reminds you that the process is the heart of the work.
You'll also find a short prose piece titled "Genesis: A Story of Disjunction" by Juul Tammenga. She explores the theme of disconnection and how the act of separating is, in itself, a beginning. In a time that often demands digestibility and cohesion, Juul's writing reminds us that space, boundaries, and difference can hold just as much meaning.
